- Why is Singapore's Electricity Market liberalised?
The electricity market is liberalised with the aim of providing competitively priced electricity packages and value added services to consumers.
- Where can I find more information on the electricity market?
For more information on the new electricity market, you may like to refer to Energy Market Authority's website.
Should you like to find out more on the wholesale electricity market, you can refer to Energy Market Company's website.
- What are the requirements to be eligible for contestability and how do you apply for contestability?
Your consumption for the past 12 months has to be more than or equal to 10,000KWh per month and not from residential usage.
If you meet the above requirement and currently with SP Services,we will be pleased to assist you in your contestability application as your chosen retailer.

- What types of contestable customers are there?
As the electricity market is deregulated in phases, consumers are categorised by their consumption.

For consumers taking electricity at 230kV and above |
| Extra High Tension (EHT) |
For consumers taking electricity at 66kV and above |
| High Tension (HT) |
For consumers taking electricity at 22kV or 6.6kV and with Contracted Capacity of at least 850kW |
| Low Tension (LT) |
For consumers taking electricity at 400V/230V. |
| Landlord |
Any retail or corporate buildings having sub meters and taking electricity of at least 400V/230V. |
| Tenant |
For all non-contestable consumers having sub-meters at 400V/230V in a commercial building |
- Where can I find updated information on the SP Tariff Rates?
SP Tariff Rates are revised every quarterly, i.e. January, April, July and October.

What information is required to request for a quotation?
To facilitate us to quote a competitive pricing, please provide at least 3 months of your electricity bill and email to us at customerservice@keppelenergy.com or fax it to 6278 0777.
Our retail team will then get in touch with you to provide a pricing plan that fits your energy consumption pattern.

- What are the modes of payment to Keppel Electric?
Our current payment terms is 14 days. We currently accept the following payment:

We welcome payment by either Internet Banking Transfer or Telegraphic Transfer (T.T.) at the moment.

- What are the pricing plans that Keppel Electric offer?
To cater a wide spectrum of commercial consumers, our pricing plans are customised to fit your risk appetite and energy consumption pattern.
The core plans that you should be looking at :
If you are looking for flexibility in rates, you can consider the SP Tariff Plan that revises the tariff every quarter based on the High Sulphur Fuel Oil (HSFO)
If you prefer to have stability in your energy costs, you can consider Fixed Pricing Plan which provides a fixed rate over the contract period.
If you are able to manage your consumption pattern and has a high risk appetite of the potentially available lower prices, you can consider the Pool Pricing Plan which is based on half-hourly wholesale price.
If you are willing to take a risk in the volatility in oil price movement, you can benefit from the decreasing fuel oil price. You can consider Fuel-Indexed Pricing Plan

- What do I need to provide to open an electricity account with Keppel Electric?
For tenants, these are the documents required.
1. Copy of Business Registration (ACRA)
2. Landlord letter stating to open an account with Keppel Electric
3. Cheque or Cash to place security deposit with us

Customers with a change in Company name
Please submit a official letter with the new company header informing of the change in company name.
Should there be any change in Company's Registration Number, please provide a copy of the new registration number.

Understanding Your Electricity Invoice
Along with the new electricity market, there are market charges applicable to contestable consumers to recover the cost of operating and maintaining the efficiency of the market as a whole.
