Keppel Merlimau Cogen Pte Ltd ("KMC") is the first independent power project to enter the Singapore electricity market since the New Energy Market of Singapore (“NEMS”) was implemented in January 2003. Keppel Merlimau Cogen has a generation license of up to 1,400MW and the first phase of the project is a 500MW cogeneration plant that has been operating since 2007 with a good track record of efficiency and reliability.
The cogeneration plant is located at the Tembusu sector of Jurong Island and it is well positioned to support the surrounding industries with their electricity, steam supply, demineralised water requirements. |
