In Singapore, Keppel Energy owns an integrated energy business that includes:

Keppel Merlimau Cogen Pte Ltd (“KMC”), the 500MW power plant;

Keppel Gas, the first company in Singapore to bring natural gas from Malaysia into Singapore’s main gas network; and

Pipenet Pte Ltd, a utilities and service corridor provider on Jurong Island.
Power Generation

In Singapore, Keppel Merlimau Cogen Pte Ltd has a licence to generate 1,400MW and is presently operating a 500MW gas-fired combined-cycle power plant on Jurong Island.

Electricity Retail Business

Keppel Electric Pte Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Keppel Energy, is a licensee in Singapore that deals with electricity retailing to contestable industrial and commercial consumers.

Gas Business
 |
Our gas business is managed by our wholly owned subsidiary Keppel Gas Pte Ltd. It is responsible for the import, retail and shipping of natural gas in Singapore’s deregulated gas market.

Utilities Business

Pipenet Pte Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Keppel Energy, is the service provider to deliver utilities services like steam, fire-fighting water, cooling water that can be provided by Keppel Merlimau Cogen to existing and potential consumers on Jurong Island. Pipenet also operate a pipe corridor on Jurong Island.

Overseas Business
Our power generation projects include the power barges operation in Ecuador. Our overseas experience also includes previously owning and operating the power barges in the Philippines and Brazil, and a diesel power plant in Nicaragua.

Currently, Keppel Energy operates a 150MW power barges complex in Ecuador. Our previous overseas experience include owning and operating a coal-fired power plant in the People’s Republic of China, a diesel power plant in Nicaragua and the power barges in the Philippines and Brazil.
