CENSA
Keppel Energy in cooperation with AMFELS, a subsidiary of Keppel FELS Ltd based in Houston, developed, designed, constructed and operated a 36 MW land based power plant (CENSA) in Nicaragua, Latin America, under a BOO (Build, Own and Operate) scheme.
After three years of successful operation, the plant was expanded to 63 MW to meet Nicaragua’s strong demand for reliable power. The expanded capacity (CENSA II) achieved commercial operation in October 2000 and both plants are now 100% owned by Keppel Energy.
In
Nicaragua, CENSA ranks as one of the largest independent power
producers in the country.
