Key Growth Strategies
Keppel Energy will build a growth platform in the energy business starting from Singapore with the development of a 500MW power project (Keppel Merlimau Cogen) on Jurong Island. Keppel Energy believes that the fundamentally sound power generation project will also provide growth options to capitalize on the deregulation of the energy industry in Singapore including the privatisation of Singapore generators and opening up of the gas market.
When completed, the Keppel Merlimau Cogen plant will be fuelled by natural gas imported by Keppel Gas Ltd to provide electricity to the Singapore Market. The Project will also be able to provide utilities like steam, firefighting water, cooling water and pipe service corridor (Pipenet) to potential industrial and utility consumers on Jurong Island.
